1. Specialized Software and Asset License
Orion November Studio is an Istanbul-based multidisciplinary entity founded by Ahmet Baykara, a practitioner with a background in electronic engineering and the performing arts. Operating under a "Product-First" philosophy, the studio utilizes a dual-licensing strategic architecture designed to facilitate professional production workflows. This model establishes a clear legal perimeter, distinguishing between functional software code intended for the Blender ecosystem and high-fidelity creative assets that require proprietary protection. By applying this framework, the studio ensures that procedural tools remain adaptable for the community while maintaining the artistic exclusivity necessary for commercial motion design and technical art.
GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE SUMMARY
The software components of our products, such as the code powering the Segment Display add-on, are governed by the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 3. This ensures the tools remain a permanent part of the open-source procedural ecosystem.

  • Freedom to Share and Change: You are entitled to copy, distribute, and modify the software to suit your specific pipeline requirements.

  • Requirement to Pass on Freedoms: If you distribute or convey modified versions of the code, you must provide recipients with the same freedoms and access to the corresponding source code.

  • Absence of Warranty: The software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The user assumes all risk regarding the program's quality and performance.
PROPRIETARY ASSET LICENSE (COMMERCIAL)
All intellectual property rights in the .blend files, 3D models, and textures (the "Assets") remain the exclusive property of Ahmet Baykara/Orion November Studio. These assets are governed by a Single User Commercial License.

Prohibited Redistributions

  • Sale, redistribution, or sub-licensing of Assets in original or modified form.

  • Sharing Assets as standalone files or as components of another tool/add-on.

  • Uploading Assets to public repositories or file-sharing sites.

Permitted Commercial Uses

  • Integration into personal creative portfolios.

  • Production of videos/animations for commercial use.

  • Integration into personal creative portfolios.

These distinct frameworks serve as the legal perimeter for the studio’s intellectual property, providing the necessary boundaries before transitioning into the general service terms.

2. Commercial Infrastructure and Merchant of Record (ToS)

Orion November Studio utilizes a Merchant of Record (MoR) model to provide a global, secure, and tax-compliant foundation for international digital trade. This represents a deliberate compliance outsourcing strategy, ensuring that all transactions meet the complex regulatory and fiscal requirements of the user's specific jurisdiction.

By appointing Lemon Squeezy as the exclusive Merchant of Record, the studio leverages a specialized financial infrastructure to manage the following responsibilities:

  1. Payment Processing: Execution of all transactions via encrypted, PCI-DSS compliant gateways, ensuring high-integrity financial exchange.

  2. Sales Tax and VAT Calculation: Automated calculation, collection, and remittance of appropriate sales tax and VAT across all international borders.

  3. Secure Financial Hosting: Maintenance of sensitive financial records and transaction data on secure, dedicated servers, providing professional-grade protection.

The "So What?" of Liability Transfer: This structure facilitates a total liability transfer regarding sensitive financial data. Orion November Studio never views, handles, or stores your credit card information. By outsourcing these functions to a specialized MoR, we enhance user security and ensure that financial interactions are managed by a platform dedicated to the highest standards of digital commerce. This commercial structure ensures professional accountability, allowing the studio to remain focused on technical innovation.

3. Product Evaluation and Refund Governance

The studio operates under a philosophy where transparency in evaluation leads to a streamlined purchase experience. We believe technical artists should have the opportunity to verify that a tool meets their procedural requirements before a final transaction is made.

To support this transparency, we provide a free "Lite" edition of Segment Display. This enables full user verification of compatibility and utility within a specific Blender pipeline prior to the purchase of a full version. Consequently, Orion November Studio maintains a Strict No-Refunds policy for the full version of our digital products, and all direct sales are considered final.

Merchant of Record Discretionary Window: Notwithstanding the studio's policy, our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy, reserves the right to issue refunds within a 60-day window at its own discretion. This mechanism is primarily utilized by the MoR to mitigate transaction risks and prevent bank-level disputes.

A chargeback is a formal dispute initiated through a credit card provider. Users are strictly instructed to contact studio support to resolve any issues before pursuing a bank-level reversal.

  • Financial Impact: Each chargeback imposes a significant administrative burden and a $15 dispute fee—a bank-imposed penalty—on the studio.

  • Consequences: Fraudulent claims (such as claiming a product was not received rather than seeking support) will result in the immediate revocation of all product licenses and may lead to account suspension by the Merchant of Record.

4. Privacy Policy: Data Collection and Methodology

Orion November Studio adheres to the principle of "Purpose Limitation," asserting that we only collect data essential for technical support, product updates, and the maintenance of our digital infrastructure.

We differentiate between the following data layers:

  • Provided Data: Names and email addresses voluntarily submitted via mailing lists or support inquiries. This information is used exclusively for launch updates, product availability notifications, and customer assistance.

  • Automated Data: Collected via Wix Analytics and Lemon Squeezy, this includes Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, purchase history, and session patterns (e.g., page response times and interaction lengths). This data is used solely to optimize site performance and analyze purchase trends to improve our services.

  • Storage and Security: Our digital environment is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix provides the online platform that allows us to sell our products; they store your data on secure servers protected by industry-standard firewalls. While we manage the user relationship, all payment details are handled exclusively by Lemon Squeezy over their secure, PCI-compliant checkout system.

  • License Activation Data: Upon activating a product license, the user's custom device name (e.g., QUEEN_WINDOWS11) is transmitted to and stored on our licensing system dashboard. This data is collected exclusively to enable our customer support team to identify and resolve activation-related issues. By activating a license, the user consents to the collection and storage of this device identifier for support purposes only.

5. Analytics, Cookies, and User Autonomy

The strategic use of analytics is essential for improving the user experience for technical artists and motion designers. Understanding how users navigate our resources allows us to refine our documentation and support materials.

The Wix Cookie Consent Banner is the primary mechanism for user autonomy:

  • User Control: You have full control to accept or decline non-essential cookies upon your initial visit.

  • Functional Integrity: Declining cookies will not break site functionality. Access to the checkout and the utility of our digital tools remain fully available regardless of your analytics preferences.

How to Withdraw Consent

Users wishing to access, rectify, or delete their personal information may exercise their data rights through the following step-by-step actions by contacting the studio founder:

  1. Request Access: You may request a full disclosure of the personal information and purchase history the studio has on record.

  2. Rectify Information: You have the right to correct or amend any data that is inaccurate.

  3. Withdraw Consent/Delete: You may request the immediate deletion of your information from our mailing lists and databases.

For all privacy-related inquiries or to withdraw consent, please contact [privacy@orionnovemberstudio.com].

Policy Evolution: We reserve the right to modify this governance framework at any time to reflect changes in regulatory standards or technical requirements. All modifications take effect immediately upon their posting to the website, reflecting our commitment to current legal and technical standards.
